Fight The Wave
by Joanne Elizabeth

Inside a crashing wave
I ride with my heart in my hand
Somewhere in the ocean
I travel towards the land

Should I really get off
this wave I ride so free
when the water sadly calms
in stillness leaving me?

Somewhere there has to be
a never ending wave length
to fill you all
and me with strength

to stand up on our feet
so we won't ride with the flow
Hearing our calling in time
to which we all must go

The moral of this poem is
to not ride the waves to shore
but swim against the incoming tide
because that's what life is for

Don't take the easy path
and let society pull you in
Fight against it always
and you will surely win
